National Workshop on Synergising Carbon Credits and Agroforestry Models for Climate-Resilient Livelihoods

The Progyan Foundation for Research and Innovation (PFRI) participated as a co-organiser in the National Workshop on “Synergising Carbon Credits and Agroforestry Models for Climate-Resilient Livelihoods” held at ICAR–Central Agroforestry Research Institute (CAFRI), Jhansi.
The workshop brought together stakeholders working across agroforestry, climate science, carbon finance, and rural development. Sessions examined different agroforestry systems across agro-ecological zones, along with technical pathways for carbon measurement and monetisation. Discussions also covered monitoring, reporting and verification, validation standards, carbon markets, carbon rights, and benefit-sharing.
The workshop strengthened PFRI’s understanding of the scientific, technical, and institutional requirements for developing robust agroforestry carbon projects. These insights will support ongoing efforts to connect climate action, sustainable land management, and resilient rural livelihoods.
