Climate Resilient Aquaculture
RegisterThe Foundation is actively engaged in transformative work in freshwater aquaculture within the coastal areas of Sundarban, West Bengal. Through a combination of research, community outreach, and practical interventions, the course aims to address the impact of environmental shifts, including rising temperatures and changing weather patterns through an adaptive approach to aquaculture in the face of evolving environmental challenges in the Sundarban coastal area. Climate resilient brackish water aquaculture Being in the coastal regions, brackish water aquaculture is getting more affected due to the adverse effects of climate change and more and more livelihood is getting affected. Special to mention that PFRI has successfully intervened in five coastal villages of Indian Sundarbans and implemented Climate-resilient crab box fattening technologies for the sustainable development of livelihood among locals. This innovative course aims not only to provide alternative livelihoods but to do so in a way that acknowledges and addresses the vulnerabilities associated with a changing climate.
